Two days in Paris

Hi everybody! I have just come back from Paris. I went there for the Fashion Week. Paris is beautiful, unique in the whole world. These days the city was full of people related to the Fashion World. Apart from the fashion shows, there were lots of exhibitions in various places around Paris. I met there with two friends of mine, as we had to make our orders for next season. Paris is pure magic!

The first day we had an appointment at the beautiful shop of Josep Font which is situated in the Rue de la Surdiere, just off Rue Saint Honoré. We had a look at the collections. Both the first line ‘Josep Font’ as well as the second one ‘La 2’ are really amazing. In the second line you can find jerseys in violet and in red wine colour. There are some amazing pieces in blue petrol, made with a material that looks like leather. A collection that is perfect for everyday! For his first line, Font used colours like lila, green, blue, and red. The exception is a yellow trench. Beautiful piece! A variety of materials was used, combining one with another. The shoes are elegant as always. A collection just for a princess…A real luxury!

¡Hola a todos y a todas! Acabo de regresar de mi viaje a Paris. Fui alli para la semana de la moda. La verdad es que Paris es precioso, único en el mundo. Estos días se llena de gente relacionada con el mundo de la moda. Aparte de los desfiles, hay exposiciones en muchos lugares de Paris. Había quedado allí con dos amigas mías para hacer los pedidos de la próxima temporada. ¡Paris es pura magia!

El primer día teníamos cita en la tienda de Josep Font que esta en Rue de la Suerdiere. Tanto la primera línea ‘Josep Font’ como la segunda ‘La 2’ son preciosas. En la segunda línea se han hecho jerséis de punto en colores como el violeta y el vino tinto. Hay unas piezas preciosas en azul petrol, y hechas con un tejido que da la sensación de ser piel. ¡Perfecta para cada día! Para la primera línea, Font ha utilizado colores como el lila, el verde, el azul, y el rojo. La excepción es una gabardina en color amarillo ¡Preciosa! Los tejidos son variados y combinados entre si. Los zapatos son elegantes como siempre. Una colección propia de una princesa…¡un verdadero lujo!

When we finished with our orders was already 21:30. We walked to Hotel Costes as it was very near the shop. We had a drink at the bar and then we continued with dinner. As always the place was full of people, and as always the atmospere and the food were superb. We really had a lovely evening.

Ya eran las 21:30 cuando terminamos con nuestros pedidos. Caminamos hacia el Hotel Costes ya que está muy cerca de la tienda. Tomamos algo al bar y después continuamos con la cena. Como siempre el sitio estaba lleno de gente, y como siempre el ambiente y la comida era super. Habiamos pasado una noche magnifica.

The second day we went to Tranoi, one of the fashion exhibitions in the city. There we could see the collection of Miriam Ocariz. I had already seen the collection, but not the girls. They really liked it. Especially the line that has a military style. There is a coat and some jackets that are really amazing. The long dresses are also exceptional. Miriam is creating collections that are adapted to the life of the woman of today, without removing any sign of feminity whatsoever. Bravo!

El segundo día fuimos a Tranoi, una de las ferias de la ciudad. Allí exponía su colección Miriam Ocariz. Yo ya había visto la colección en Barcelona, pero las chicas no. Les ha gustado muchísimo. Especialmente la línea en estilo militar. Hay unos abrigos y unas americanas preciosas. Los vestidos largos también son excepcionales. Miriam hace colecciones adaptadas a la vida de la mujer de hoy, sin quitarles ni un trozo de feminidad. La calidad de sus tejidos es de primera, y el talento que tiene a la hora de hacer sus famosas serigrafías no tiene límites. ¡Bravo! .

We also had a little bit of time to go shopping in Avenue Montaigne, and eat at Avenue, one of my favourite places for lunch in the city. Apart from the fact that the Director of the Loewe shop in Paris is a friend, I have to say that it is the collection I mostly liked in a shop. I felt in love with the new colours of the Amazona bag. I especially liked the black with details in electric blue. There is an orange 'aire' bag that I liked. But the cutest of all the things in the shop were some wallets in the shape of the Amazona bag. They produced them especially for the 160 anniversary of the brand and they can be used as a mini bag. They exist in various colours, and are a must for this season and for ever. I will surely get one for me. Men's collection is also very elegant, as it has always been. I love the red/orange trousers combined with the blue blazer. Classic! The dresses were also beautiful mainly in white, beige, blue, and black colours. Nice bronze silk kaftants. I attach some photos from the catalogue so you can judge yourselves. I really liked the photos of Geraldine Chaplin in the catalogue. An extra touch of luxury!

También hemos tenido algo de tiempo para ir de compras en Avenue Montaigne, y comer al Avenue, uno de mis restaurantes favoritos para mediodía en la ciudad. Aparte del hecho que el Director de Loewe de la tienda en Paris es un amigo, debo decir que es la coleccion que mas me gustó en una tienda Me he enamorado de los bolsos Amazonas que han sacado en varios colores, especialmente uno en negro con azul eléctrico. También me ha gustado el bolso 'aire' en color naranja. Pero los mas ‘cute’ de la tienda, eran unos monederos con forma del bolso amazona. Los han sacado para el 160 aniversario, y existen en varios colores. Se puede utilizar como mini bolso. Es un must have para esta temporada y para siempre. Seguramente me quedare con uno. La colección de hombre es muy elegante como siempre. Me encanta el pantalon rojo/naranja combinado con la americana azul. ¡Todo un clasico! Los vestidos también son una maravilla. La mayoria en color blanco, beige, azul, y negro. Kaftanes de seda en color bronce. Adjunto unas fotos del catalogo, asi podeis judgar vosotros/as mismos/as. Me han gustado muchisimo las photos con Geraldine Chaplin.¡Un extra toque de lujo!

The truth is that I was not interested in the rest of the shops around. The majority of the things they sell will be bought by half of the world. I really feel sorry we did not have the time to discover little treasures in these amazing shops Paris has. The shops in Avenue Montaigne are great, but not all of them offer luxury items…they offer mass luxury. It is just a matter of having the money. Luxury today is the brands and designers that only the best few know and appreciate. Not everybody knows where to find the best artisan that makes hand-made and made to measure leather boots. Or discover the studio that makes the best hats. These are the shops I like to discover. The best kept secrets of the cities…revealed only by the best..

La verdad es que las otras tiendas por allí no me interesan demasiado ya que la mayoría de las cosas que venden, serán compradas por medio mundo. Lastima que no hemos tenido el tiempo para descubrir pequeños tesoros en estas tiendas magnificas de Paris. Las tiendas de Avenue Montaigne son preciosas, pero no todas venden lujo sino lujo de masas. Es simplemente cuestión de dinero. Lujo hoy en día, son las marcas y los diseñadores que solo los pocos y los mejores conocen y aprecian. No todos conocen donde encontrar el mejor artesano que hace cosas hechas a mano y a medida. O donde encontrar el taller que hace los mejores sobreros. Estos son los sitios que me gusta descubrir. Los secretos mejor guardados de la ciudad…desvelados solo de los mejores.
